About the app

Who is Latch?

Latch is the companion in Prayer Latch: a round caramel padlock with a silver shackle that pops open when you say Amen. Each day you pray, Latch moves further along a 90-day journey through 10 painted places.

Habits are easier with company. Latch is there each morning when you open the app, and celebrates with you when you say Amen.

What does Latch do?

What are the 10 places on the journey?

Each place has a name and a verse:

  1. A quiet beginning (John 8:34)
  2. Room to breathe (John 8:36)
  3. Follow the light (Psalm 121:1)
  4. One brave step (Matthew 16:24)
  5. Walk with me (Matthew 11:29)
  6. Keep going (Galatians 6:9)
  7. Joy in the journey (Isaiah 40:31)
  8. Lay it down (2 Timothy 4:7)
  9. Made new (Isaiah 61:10)
  10. Stay close (Galatians 2:20)

Why does a prayer app have a mascot?

Because habits are easier when they're a little bit joyful. Latch gives you something to look forward to in the morning and a visible picture of faithfulness over time, one day and one prayer at a time. Latch doesn't replace anything in your walk with God. Latch is just good company on the way, and a small reminder that a lock can open with an Amen.

What happens if I miss a day?

Missed days can move Latch back, and so can an emergency unlock, but never below level 1. Latch is a gentle reminder, not a scorekeeper. Prayer Latch never shares your progress with anyone.

Can I rename Latch?

Yes. You can give your companion a different name in the app.

Can I turn off the animations?

Yes. If you prefer stillness, turn off artwork motion in Settings, and Prayer Latch also follows your phone's reduced-motion setting.

Pray before you scroll

Prayer Latch locks your chosen apps each morning until you pray. Your first 7 days are free, no card needed.
